SafeTeensOnline – A Great Showing at T-Mobile Innovation Lab

On July 27th, 2022, National Champions Changemaker siblings Anya and Manav Pulluru supported by development partners Siona and Meghna Pramoda took to the stage at T-mobile Innovation Lab to showcase the SafeTeensOnline story.  This Bellevue, WA event was conducted in partnership with Ashoka. The dynamic duo siblings spoke of the mission to educate and help teens be better digital citizens in a complex world. T-Mobile executives serving as judges offered suggestions and engaged in interactive dialogue regarding the platform. 

The $15,000 cash that was awarded will be used to scale and further improve the distribution of SafeTeens programming worldwide. The team continues to work with its mentors. These T-Mobile employees have generously coached the SafeTeensOnline Ambassadors to their final presentation, and continue to provide sage wisdom on execution and prioritization.

SafeTeensOnline is an international education platform that is currently in 4 countries, established in 2017. It reaches 20,000 students worldwide, with aims to reach millions more and advance teen digital safety and citizenship.  The non-profit is also aiming to systemize a digital bill of rights for children and teens and engage parents in the curriculum. 

Ashoka is a non-profit founded in 1980 that partners with organizations such as T-mobile to bring the concepts of social entrepreneurship to youth, to mold young minds into a changemaker mindset. Ashoka also sponsors a fellowship to organize for changemaking, with over 4000 Ashoka Fellows from 95+ countries.

Announcing Our First Safe Teens Online Educators’ Consortium

March 2022 has been a big month for Safe Teens Online. Our educators from multiple schools came together in an educators consortium. We love the educators’ spirit as it pertains to sharing, learning and growing together for the benefit of their respective students and communities. The kick-off event focused on learning to use the Safe Teens Online (powered by EdQuill), a demo and Q&A session led by Ms. Ushapriya Ravilla, CEO of EdQuill. With this, the educators have a running start as they roll out the curriculum portion of the Safe Teens Online program in their schools.

SafeTeens Online attracts students, parents…

Fairless Hills: Safeteens Online was present at the 23rd Pennsbury Career Fair at the Pennsbury High School, Fairless Hills, PA. Vineeth Veeramachaneni, Founder and CEO of Safeteens Online hosted several students at the fair who discussed plans after high school graduation. Vineeth presented information about several opportunities, job training programs and online courses in the area of cybersecurity that lead to good paying jobs.

Several parents noted that not every student intends to attend college and finding a decent paying job without a four-year degree has become difficult these days. Vineeth Veeramachaneni stated that there would be an estimated 2 million opportunities in areas of Cybersecurity and most of those jobs do not require a four-year degree. Safeteens Online guides students with online courses, workshops, and seminars for interested students and guides them to apprenticeships and certification programs.

Perry Warren, PA State Representative, appreciated Safeteens Online efforts in assisting students by providing resources and information to figure out and improve career prospects. Vineeth added that in the constantly changing economy, it is good to utilize all resources that are available for free and stay competitive in the market.

The Career Fair is a District-wide, school-to-career event with an emphasis on career exploration for all students, grades K-12. Approximately 1,500 students, parents, teachers, and community members visited exhibits placed throughout the gymnasium, cafeteria, and hallways,” said Frank Mayo, the district’s curriculum coordinator for business, computers and information technology.

The fair includes more than 150 exhibitors representing business, industry, government, healthcare, and non-profit careers. Each year, exhibitors share the details of their career paths, including educational requirements and professional insight. By speaking one-to-one with professionals, students gain a depth of knowledge not acquired within the classroom environment.

Each Jan. 28, Hundreds of Organizations and Individuals Collaborate to Generate Awareness About the Importance of Respecting Privacy, Safeguarding Data and Enabling Trust

SafeTeens has announced its commitment to Data Privacy Day ‒ an international effort held annually on Jan. 28 to create awareness about the importance of respecting privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust – by signing up as a Data Privacy Day 2019 Champion. As a Champion, SafeTeens recognizes and supports the principle that all organizations share the responsibility of being conscientious stewards of personal information.

Data Privacy Day is part of a greater campaign that promotes awareness of the importance of privacy, highlights easy ways to protect personal information and reminds organizations that privacy is good for business. SafeTeens joins the growing global effort among nonprofits, academic institutions, corporations, government entities, municipalities and individuals to raise awareness at home, at work and school and in their communities. Through collaboration and unified, consistent messaging about privacy and protecting personal information, all Data Privacy Day Champions are working toward the common goal of improving individual and business consciousness toward respecting privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust. 

In North America, the Data Privacy Day initiative is officially led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), a nonprofit, public-private partnership dedicated to promoting a safer, more secure and more trusted internet. Pennsbury School District selects SafeTeensOnline…

span style=”font-weight: 400;”>This week SafeTeensOnline,Inc completed a business education partnership with Pennsbury School District. Pennsbury school district is one of the largest districts in PA with total student population of 10,045 at 14 schools. SafeTeensOnline worked with PHS Principal Reggie Meadows and Supervisor of Communication Strategies Ann Langtry on how SafeTeensOnline can support the district needs to support the Future Ready PA Index.

Vineeth Veeramachaneni Founder & CEO of SafeTeensOnline explained the need for current education model ( consumption based) is not supporting the future job requirements ( contribution and collaboration model). Vineeth believes that by 2025 75% of workforce is comprised of millennials and Future ready PA index is designed to address the exact requirement.

Safeteens and it’s Ambassadors are excited to support the district in preparing the students to be ready for future workforce. 

As part of the partnership SafeTeensOnline will provide the following services 

  1. Run Cybersecurity awareness workshops
  2. Support career development and skill training activities
  3. Mentoring and training to develop future cybersecurity leaders
  4. School to career information seminar
  5. Curriculum support – Cybersecurity tools and topics
  6. Support afterschool STEM clubs
